One Car / One Detailer / One Standard

Your vehicle, cared for properly · start to finish

One detailer. One vehicle at a time. No handovers, no assistants, no jobs running in parallel. When your car is with me, it has my full attention from the moment it arrives until I hand it back.

The thinking behind LS Detail

I started LS Detail after stepping away from high-volume, rushed work. That environment showed me exactly what detailing looks like when throughput takes priority over results, and I had no interest in carrying that forward. My background is in mechanical engineering. It shapes how I approach every car: methodically, precisely, with close attention to what is actually happening to the surface rather than what it looks like from three feet away. Paint correction is not about how fast you can move a machine across a panel. It is about reading the paint, understanding the defects, and choosing the right process for that specific surface on that specific day. Every vehicle I work on is assessed individually before anything starts. Condition, paint thickness, history, what the owner actually needs. From that I give a specific quote for that specific car. I do not work from a price list posted on a wall. I work from an assessment of what is in front of me. I stay on one vehicle from start to finish. No handovers. The car that arrives is the car I work on, and the standard it leaves to is the standard I hold myself to. If that means I take fewer bookings than a larger operation, that is the point. That has always been the point.

LS Detail is run solely by Leon. With a background in mechanical engineering, every vehicle is approached with a precise, methodical mindset and a strong focus on detail. · Leon · LS Detail

Common questions

Do you come to me, or do I bring the car to you?
I work from my unit at Blythe Valley Park, Solihull. You drop the vehicle off and collect it when the job is done. I do not offer a mobile service. Working from a fixed location with the right equipment is how I maintain the standard I want to work to. There are no shortcuts in a driveway.
How long does each service take?
It depends on the service and the condition of the vehicle. An essential detail is typically a few hours. A full interior deep clean can take most of a working day. Paint correction and ceramic coating work is usually a multi-day process, with curing time factored in for coatings. I give you a realistic timeframe when I quote the job. I do not compress the schedule to fit more work in.
Does my car need paint correction before a ceramic coating?
For a used vehicle: almost certainly yes. A coating bonds to the surface it is applied to, which means swirl marks, fine scratches, and haze get sealed in rather than removed. On the new-car ceramic, the paint condition is assessed before I will confirm a booking. If correction is needed, I discuss it honestly and price it into the job. The correction step is not an upsell. It is what makes the coating worth having.
What does a ceramic coating actually do?
It creates a hard, chemically bonded layer on top of the clearcoat that makes the surface hydrophobic and more resistant to environmental contamination. Water, bird lime, tree resin, and industrial fallout have less grip on a coated surface and wash off more easily. Correctly applied and maintained, a ceramic coating lasts several years. It is not a substitute for washing the car, but it makes every wash more effective and less likely to introduce swirl marks over time.
What is the difference between single stage and multi stage paint correction?
Single stage uses one polishing compound and pad combination to remove light surface defects: light swirling, minor scratches, and water spotting. Multi stage uses progressively finer compounds across two or more passes, working from a heavier cut to a finer refining stage. Which approach your car needs depends on the depth and type of defects in the paintwork and how much paint thickness is available to work with. I assess this before quoting and explain which is appropriate and why.
How do I get a quote?
WhatsApp is the easiest way. Send me a message at 07415 739277 with your vehicle details and what you are looking for. If you have them, a few photos of the paintwork condition help me give you an accurate response. I will come back to you with a clear quote. Alternatively, use the contact form on this page and I will reply within one working day. Each vehicle is quoted individually based on its condition, size, and requirements.
Do you work on all vehicle types?
I work on a wide range: daily drivers, modern performance cars, classics, and larger vehicles. The service and quote always depends on the specific vehicle. If you have something unusual or you are unsure whether it is something I can take on, send a message and ask. I would rather discuss it upfront than waste either of our time.
